WINE COUNTRY: SIX REGIONS, SIX DIFFERENT MOODS

Australia's wine regions aren't interchangeable. Each one has a different landscape, grape story, and pacing. We match the region to the traveller, not the other way around.

Hunter Valley

2-3 days

Classic weekend escape from Sydney. Great for long lunches, boutique tastings, and easy logistics. The Semillon is genuinely world-class; everything else is a pleasant bonus.

Best for:
Sydney add-on, wine + food weekenders

Planner’s edge:
We pair Hunter with a specific lodge and cellar-door sequence — the region is small enough that a well-curated two days beats a rushed three.

Yarra Valley

1-2 days

Melbourne's backyard, but with serious Pinot and Chardonnay energy. Clean design, cool-climate style, and restaurants that hold their own against the city.

Best for:
Melbourne add-on, cool-climate wine lovers

Planner’s edge:
We combine Yarra with Mornington Peninsula as a two-region contrast — the styles are different enough to make the pairing worth doing.

Barossa Valley

2-4 days

Big-hearted red wine country. Iconic cellar doors, old vines, and a sense of tradition without being stiff. This is where Australian wine history lives.

Best for:
Dedicated wine travellers, anyone who loves a
serious Shiraz

Planner’s edge:
We sequence the Barossa with McLaren Vale on the same trip — the two regions are 45 minutes apart and the contrast between them is the story.

McLaren Vale

1-2 days

The beachy wine region. Grenache, coastal air, and a relaxed, modern feel. Pair it with Barossa for contrast.

Best for:
Couples, those who want wine with ocean proximity

Planner’s edge:
McLaren Vale's Grenache is the conversation — we find the producers making the most interesting versions, not just the most famous labels.

Margaret River

3-5 days

Wine plus wild coastline. Cabernet, surf, caves, and high-end stays. This is the wine region that also works for people who aren't that into wine.

Best for:
Stand-alone destination, couples, wine + coast

Planner’s edge:
Margaret River is far from everything — it earns its own trip. We build it as a southern WA extension, not a day trip from Perth.

Tasmania

4–7 days

Cool-climate edge: sparkling wine, Pinot Noir, and a quieter, more intimate wine scene. Pair it with MONA, Freycinet, and the east coast for a trip that's about more than wine.

Best for:
Wine + nature seekers, those wanting something genuinely different

Planner’s edge:
We build Tasmania as its own destination — the wine is the thread, but MONA, the east coast, and the food scene are equally worth the flight.
