FIJI: WARMTH ABOVE AND BELOW THE WATER

Fiji has more than 300 islands, but you don't need to think about most of them. The decision is simpler than it looks: choose the island group that matches what you actually want from the trip. Family energy and easy logistics, or romantic seclusion and quiet? Reef diving and marine life, or long beach days and sundowners? We match the island to the group.

Mamanuca & Yasawa Islands

4-7 days

The Mamanucas sit just offshore from Nadi — 20 minutes by speedboat, or a short seaplane flight. These are Fiji's most accessible resort islands: calm lagoons, reliable weather, and a range of properties from family-friendly to couples-only. The Yasawas extend north in a long volcanic chain — longer to reach, quieter when you arrive, and with some of the best budget and mid-range lodge options in the Pacific alongside a few genuinely secluded luxury resorts.

Best for:
Families and couples who want reliable weather, easy logistics, and the full Fiji resort experience

Planner’s edge:
The Mamanuca–Yasawa choice comes down to one question: how much do you want the logistics to disappear? We match island and property to group composition — a honeymoon resort and a family resort in Fiji are very different places

The Coral Coast & Pacific Harbour

2-4 days

The southern coast of Viti Levu offers a different Fiji: less resort-polished, more culturally engaged. Pacific Harbour is the base for serious diving — Beqa Lagoon has some of the best shark diving in the world, and the soft coral reefs are among the most colourful in the Pacific. The Coral Coast itself has a quieter energy, a slower pace, and access to village experiences that the island resorts don't offer.

Best for:
Divers, snorkelers, and travellers who want cultural depth alongside the beach

Planner’s edge:
Beqa Lagoon shark diving is one of the most distinctive experiences in the Pacific — we build it into the itinerary for the right traveller, not as a standard add-on

Taveuni & the Remote Islands

3–5 days

Taveuni is Fiji's 'Garden Island' — lush, volcanic, and home to the Somosomo Strait, consistently rated among the world's top dive sites. It's a dedicated trip rather than an add-on: a domestic flight from Nadi, a different pace, and a level of marine life that rewards those who make the effort. The Lau Group, further east, is the least visited and most remote — for travellers who genuinely want the islands to themselves.

Best for:
Serious divers, experienced Pacific travellers, and those seeking genuine seclusion

Planner’s edge:
Taveuni requires a domestic flight and a specific resort shortlist — the properties vary significantly in quality; we know which ones deliver
